One of two major branches of the Walker River. Originates in the eastern Sierra Nevada between the Twin Lakes and Virginia Lakes basins and flows north through Bridgeport to Yerington, Nevada, where it joins the West Walker River. At one point in its northward journey, it is less than 6 miles west, across the Wassuk Range, from its terminus in Walker Lake, but it continues 50 miles further north, before turning east and then south into Walker Lake.
