Panicum virgatum L.  Switchgrass.

Ranson/Edwards Homestead Open Space Park, Jefferson County, Colorado. High Plains above Rocky Flats, near northwest corner of Ranson/Edwards, 1.7 mi. west on CO Hwy 72 from CO Hwy 93, 1.9 mi. generally north to a private road, then 200 m. west along the northern boundary fence, 21.7 km. north northwest of Golden. 39.8991°N, 105.2751°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 2009 m. Rhizomatous, sheaths glabrous, glumes with long acuminate tips. Growing in the former access road to a clay pit.
