Name used by Russell (1889) for present-day Alkali Valley.

Russell did not include the northern part of present day Alkali Valley in his definition of Aurora Valley. Russell further concluded that the Pleistocene waters did not surmount the small pass between the south and north portions of Alkali Valley.

Also still in use by the Toiyabe National Forest (USFS 1994) as a name for the northern portion of Alkali Valley.
