Holodiscus discolor (Pursh) Maxim. var. microphyllus (Rydb.) Jeps.  Ocean Spray.

North Twin Creek, Jefferson County, Colorado. Base of boulder near where two branches join North Twin Creek, about 860 m. northwest of the crossing of North Twin Creek by F. R. 211, 6.8 mi. west and south on F. R. 211 from its north end at County Road 126, 11.7 km. southwest of Deckers. 39.21292°N, 105.35295°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 2472 m. Late in bloom. Mature, burned stumps and down trunks, and immature ponderosa pine and Douglas fir, with some aspens. Within the perimeter of the Hayman Fire (2002), mapping shows this location on the boundary between unburned and low intensity fire. Coordinates estimated from nearby collections. Determination per Ackerfield (2022).
