Alnus incana (L.) Moench ssp. tenuifolia (Nutt.) Brietung.  Thinleaf Alder.

Twin Creek, Jefferson County, Colorado. About 7 miles west and south on F. R. 211 from its north end at County Road 126 to a USFS designated parking place, then about 325 m. generally northwest on old roads into the Twin Creek drainage, 11.8 km. southwest of Deckers. 39.20591°N, 105.34897°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 2397 m. Dense thicket about 125 m. by 25 m. wide on both sides of Twin Creek. Coll. Nos. 3511 and 3512.1 made on the ends of the thicket have only pistillate catkins; Coll. No. 3512 made in the middle of the thicket has both pistillate and staminate catkins.
