Betula occidentalis Hook.  Water Birch.

North Twin Creek, Jefferson County, Colorado. Left bank of North Twin Creek, 230 m. northwest of the F. R. 211 crossing of North Twin Creek, 6.8 mi. west and south on F. R. 211 from its north end at County Road 126, 11.6 km. southwest of Deckers. 39.20894°N, 105.34755°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 2413 m. Streamside with aspen in mature ponderosa pine and Douglas fir forest, also collected here: Monarda fistulosa, Circaea alpina, Primula pauciflora var. pauciflora, Rosa acicularis ssp. sayi, and Rubus idaeus. Within the perimeter of the Hayman Fire (2002), though this area mapped as low intensity.
