Eastern Mojave Vegetation | Goat Ranch Cutoff, Mono County, California |
Tom Schweich |
Goat Ranch Cutoff goes from California Highway 167 near US Highway 395 to Goat Ranch at the mouth of Cottonwood Canyon. Because it passes by Hector Station, a stage stop on the former stage route between Bodie and Lundy, I think perhaps Goat Ranch Cutoff might follow that stage route.

Crossing Wilson Creek. Goat Ranch Cutoff is 4WD at the crossing of Wilson Creek. Last time I looked at it (June 2011), I decided not to try it because of a very sharp dip, and I wasn't interesting is getting out my shovel.
